My research topic: Smartphone

Target: Japan University students

Number of respondents: 13

【Summary】Students answered 9 questions about smartphone.

【Results】

Graph#1 shows that most respondents like using smartphone. In fact, 92.3% responded "Yes", 7.7% responded "So-so", and there were no "no" responses. These results are not very surprising because it is convenience for people to use smartphone in Japan.

Graph#2 shows that Instagram is the most popular kind of smartphone applications. These results are little surprising because I thought LINE would be the most popular kind of smartphone applications.

Graph#3 shows Apple as the respondent's favorite smartphone manufacture. This is little surprising as everyone think that Apple is the best smartphone manufacture. I expected Apple to have higher percentage, but I did not expect that no one would choose another smartphone manufacture.

Graph#4 shows how many hours a day people use their smartphone. A very surprising result was that approximately 40% of people use their smartphones for 5 hours a day. However, there are large individual differences, with some people using it for 2 hours and others using it for 9 hours.

Graph#5 shows that most respondents use smartphone by listening to music in the morning. In addtion, many people use their smartphone tp listen to music in the evening. this shows that many people listent to music on their smartphone while commuting to school. The result was not much of a surprise.

Graph#6 shows that the date when people last bought a smartphone varies widely from person to person. it is very surprising to see people still using the sane smartphone for 8 years.

Graph#7 shows that the best time to use smartphone is generally later in the evening. However, this also varies from person to person. I suspect the results may vary depending on what people do with their smartphone.

Graph#8 shows the next smartphone participants would like to buy. Overall, many people want their next smartphone to be an Apple product.

List#9 shows the participant's opinion of smartphone in terms of its positive or negative impact. Although not every response is shown here, many more original and interesting opinions were given. Most participants felt that it is very convenient to use a smartphone.

【Conclusion】

This survey has surprising results, but also some that were expected. These results could be very intersesting to smartphone manufactures who want to sell smartphone to Japanese university students.
